Chalice Press is thrilled to announce that The Bible According to Christian Nationalists: Exploiting Scripture for Political Power by Brian Kaylor has received the highest possible recognition from the Religion Communicators Council (RCC). The book was named "Best in Show," the top honor reserved for the single most outstanding entry of the year among twelve finalists.
In addition to the Best in Show title, the book won the non-fiction adult book category and was named Best in Class for Books. This marks the second consecutive year Kaylor collected a "Best in Class" win; his previous book, Baptizing America: How Mainline Protestants Helped Build Christian Nationalism (co-authored with Beau Underwood), earned the same distinction last year.
“Brian Kaylor is an insightful, engaging writer who knows his material and how to make it resonate with the reader,” said Brad Lyons, president and publisher at Chalice Press. “Brian recognizes the many ways Christian Nationalism has seeped into our churches and, more recently, our governmental agencies—and he’s sounding the alarm we all need to hear. We’re grateful to be partners with Brian and to support Word&Way in their quality journalism”.
The RCC, founded in 1929, is an association of faith-based professionals working in journalism, public relations, and advertising. The Best in Show award is part of RCC's DeRose-Hinkhouse Memorial Awards recognizing excellence in religious communications and public relations. |
